Directions in military organizing

With the shift from peacetime training for deterring a Soviet invasion towards participation in actual military operations on foreign soil, the Swedish Armed Forces face the challenge of radically transforming the professionalism of their officers and soldiers. Directions in Military Organizing aims to highlight some of the current developments related to military organizing in the Swedish Armed Forces, by using perspectives that have not always been prominent in the internal debate.

Organizational theory is an underdeveloped field within military knowledge production, and the contributions in the volume together offer outlines of a theory of contemporary military organizing as well as a discussion of some of today’s most burning issues
