Undercover Operations in No-Women’s land
In 1979, six years work of investigation resulted in a historical Riksdag (parliamentary) resolution on women’s admission to armed forces officer’s training. Due to this resolution, one of the last male bastions has fallen. As early as 1958, the police authority opened up for women to become police officers, and the same year women were allowed to be ordained. Today approx. 17 percent of the Swedish police officers are women, and more than one third of the clergy serving in the Church of Sweden are women.
